Officially homesick

After 7 hours of sitting on my arse, I look out the window and see the blinking lights of the airport below. I can’t help but wish I was at KLIA instead… and that Tat will be waiting for me at the arrival hall, to take my hand and take me home. I’ll have a shower, play with my baby Max, then go to sleep in my warm comfy bed. Then I’ll wake up the next morning and the first person I see will be you.

I really miss home can you tell :(

Oh and I wrote Tat short letters a la P.S. I Love You (only difference being it’s daily instead of monthly)… mushy mushroooooom

It was all fun until the other three decided to gang up on poor Max… they were being so rough with him I had to intervene! I mean… three on one… how unfair ok. Max even hid under the sofa at one point HAHA poor fella. My mother’s asking if they’re willing to part with Rex ’cause Max gets so lonely at home :p Does anyone have a spare minischnauzer lying around?

What do I look like to you?

I don’t have an English first name as my parents didn’t want to leave me stuck with something I didn’t like for my entire life. I was supposed to pick my own name and insert it into my IC once I hit thirteen (hello puberty), but I skipped that because I didn’t know what to name myself then :( Trust me, I went through a whole bunch of trial and error names such as Catherine, Jennifer, Emily… but they didn’t really seem like ME.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE being a Jia Meei, but I just realised the importance of having a snappy memory friendly name- I don’t want to be remembered as ‘the girl with that funny Chinese name with the extra alphabet I can’t for the life of me remember’ or ehem the ’small sized girl’. Even more so when I’m in the workforce…

I think I’m ready to add an extra name to my Jia Meei Chen! ‘May’ (derived from my Meei) might work but I really don’t see myself as a May much…

Help: What name do you think will suit me best? :) Here’s a guide heehee.

Edit: Thank you heaps for your suggestions! I shall list ‘em all down for future reference :D

Figured a trim was due before leaving for my one and a half month Melbourne stint. Suet tried to convince me to get one of ‘em edgier funky hairstyles with wispy curls but nawww… ’safe’ is my middle name :p

Goo boyyy

I really needed a quick shower so I had to leave Max all alone in my room without any supervision… a first! Loosely leashed him up to the bed as he’s currently being a teething terror, munching on things he shouldn’t even be touching i.e. the electrical socket head!!!

But when I stepped out of the shower, Max was nowhere in sight. The door was wide open, did he manage to Houdini his way out?! I anxiously boomed out, “MAXIMILLIAN!!!” … and I heard the familiar tinkle of his collar bell, and there was the lil’ fella peeking up at me from under the bed. Aww.
