Beautiful stranger
It was my first time boarding a tram today (alone too!), and I love love LOVE how friendly and helpful the Aussies are.
I asked Lady #1 if I had to ring the bell before my stop, or will the tram stop by itself- and she proceeded to explain why I needed to ring it, warned me to be careful with the traffic while alighting the tram, then left me with a “good luck luv” and a smile.
I asked Lady #2 where Burwood East was, and she didn’t know- but she went all out on finding the answer for me, even if it meant asking Lady #3/Lady #4/Man #1/Man #2.
I love how it’s okay to be lovely towards strangers- even if they’re people you’ll never need to bring home for dinner, people you might never meet again in your life time.
Non-committed kindness is refreshing :)

I have to say I find Aussies pretty helpful, in that I-don’t-expect-anything-in-return sort of way you were talking about.
They most certainly will go out of their way to give you a hand, and when you thank them, they just go “Oh, that’s okay” very nonchalantly.
The kindness of strangers hey? =)
ps: And remember to pay for your tram fares wtf. Cos my friend got find for riding a tram FOC -______-

i miss you :( the fact that you’re not here in msia anymore although i dont see you super frequent in msia anyway, but the option of calling you out to lunch is also no longer there :( i miss the option!

aussies are really friendly! i’ve been living in melb for 3 years and i’ve never met anyone who isnt helpful at all! :D hope you enjoy your trip and it’s kinda cold now~

i think the angmohs are less wary of people in a way we’ve been made to, that’s why. nothing to do with angmohs being super high class or whatever shit weird people wanna think. i miss u T.T

Haha. Yea, I live right on Blackburn Road itself and between Canterbury Road and Burwood Highway (Coles). I study at Monash, so yea, its extremely convenient to get there from my house.
OooOooO.. Holidaying in Melb is nice. But I’ll be here for life. Malaysia will be my holiday destination from now on.
You’re on a holiday here by urself? How brave! Esp more so when u’re not familiar with it.
