No running around! Just lots of R&R. That also means no waking up early *glares at Tat

day one

Was spent doing absolutely nothing- save for wandering about Queensbay Mall, yum dinner at Gurney Drive, and lots of telly. Early night as we were tuckered out from the long drive.

#1 first thing I did upon checking in was to dive into the most comfortable bed in the world. hello Traders Hotel pillows it has been too long <3

day two

Tat had cravings for scones and tried to wake me up at EIGHT to for Penang Hill’s David Brown. He failed of course- the only thing that happened was me kicking my feet angrily (at his stomach) and burrowing deeper into the comforter while letting out a muffled “crazyiztooearly”.

So we set off to Penang Hill at… eleven thirty!

Parked at the foot of the hill and took the train ride up. 20 minutes of sheer boredom.

After that we dropped by Gurney Plaza for some walkabouts, took a long drive around the island, had dinner at Nando’s @ Queensbay Mall to see if they grilled chicken differently from KL’s (same durr), and headed back to the hotel cos Tat “had an important game to watch”. Boys and their dumb football. But I wasn’t complaining- I had two new Archie comics to snuggle up with yeay.

day three

Had to wake up early this time as we were joining Tat’s family in Ipoh for lunch. But Tat was pretty smart this time, instead of adopting the military tone of “GERRUP” which would have earned him a sock in the stomach, he gently pulled me up and gave me pats on the back while asking me NICELY to get the f up. Before I realised it I was showered and dressed.

The end.

Just accessed my work e-mail and felt relieved that it hasn’t exploded so far (took leave on Friday). Was thinking that this is quite manageable… until I realised that my browser was lagging and I haven’t scrolled all the way to the top yet… dayum.

Woke up early for a work event. Body was going “noooooo” so I gave myself a good morning jolt by rolling off the bed. Problem was that my head reached the floor before my feet did.

You’ll read about the Prudential Health event soon on these blogs: Kenny Sia, Cheeserland, Chan Lilian, Red Mummy, Sixth Seal, KY Speaks, Saimatkong, Snowxwhite, Mariahlc. I won’t elaborate much as these guys were chosen to represent PruHealth for a reason- so keep an eye out for it ;)

It was really fun though- I even managed to sneak in a full body massage! Dragged Carol along with me for the hot stone sesh, snapped a photo of us in our sarongs but I look like a faddy sausage (one too many chocolate brownies) so I’m not posting that up! Sorry boys, I don’t have an individual photo of Carol in her sarong either…

Was all flu-ish and sickly at approximately 6pm (body was probably punishing me for the early wake up call) but decided not to waste the Henessey Artistry invites Audie got for me.

Didn’t feel like bothering so I just threw on a simple short dress and sandals. I wore flats because I thought that since it was at the Bukit Equestrian Club it was probably an outdoor event- but I reached the venue and about all the pretty ladies were dressed to kill in 4 inch heels and tiny skirts. Meh. Couldn’t dance for nuts so I did the next best thing- bop around! I mean, how does one slut it up in flats?!

Tim gets little-boy-happy after one too many drinks and every time the DJ goes “PUCHOR HANDS IN DEE AIR!”, Tim would shove his hands up and yell, “WOOOOOO! WOOOOO!” Aud would then give him a pat and a sayang whenever he gets too excited.

Jolene, I really wanted to take a photo with you but I didn’t want to intrude, heh. Then I couldn’t find you after that! Next time please :)

Bailed out around 1am to OD on panadol.

It was really silly cos I was under the impression that the dinner was for our 2y2m but Tat thought he was taking me out for my birthday eve (like a man, he forgot).

Walking through a room full of people with a garbage bag over our heads

It was pouring with rain on the second night. While we were in the cafeteria wondering how to walk back without risking pneumonia, we realised that we had nicely left our umbrellas behind in the room. So it’s safe (and a little ironic) to conclude that the purpose of bringing the brollies over to Redang was to shelter us from the… sun.

We had no choice but to ask the kitchen staff for a big black garbage bag (those you see murderers stuffing their victims into for an impromptu disposal). After receiving it, Tze  told us to “Fuck, practice first so we won’t get wet!”

And the four of us scuttled through the cafeteria full of unsuspecting diners with the big black garbage bag held over our heads, caterpillar style. I only noticed the whistles and laughter halfway through…

Underage flirting

Aud and Tze were a little disappointed over the percentage of eye candy at the resort (read: 0%). So disappointed that they settled for a decent looking… boy, who looked no older than 15.

At the beginning, Tze and Aud were subtly hiao- but Tze deduced later that at the age of fifteen, boys prefer girls who are more… rebellious. A round of aggressive flirting (from our side) ensued, and the boy escaped to the balcony outside for a snooker game with his (sigh) younger brother.

Oh well… your loss, kid.

Dealing out threats to annoying people

While gingerly making our way to the ferry, some juvenile delinquents up front decided that it was fun to scare us by rocking the floating jetty with their weight. We shrieked as we tried to maintain our balance, but amidst the yells we could hear Aud’s voice loudly declaring, “IF I FALL IN, IMMA FUCKING BREAK HIS BOOMBOX OVER HIS HEAD”.

Being kiasu at the airport

Despite the curious stares, we were already standing in line at the counter a whole half hour before the gate was announced open. And when it finally did, we started running- then sprinting to the plane. Unfortunately we ran to the wrong door… So our anger at being overtook by almost everyone in the end was pretty justifiable >((
