Tat and I agreed that for this trip: instead of the usual Penang Obligations (forcing down charkueyteow/asam laksa/or-chien for breakfast, rinse repeat for lunch and dinner) - we’ll do whatever I- err we feel like doing.
No running around! Just lots of R&R. That also means no waking up early *glares at Tat
day one
Was spent doing absolutely nothing- save for wandering about Queensbay Mall, yum dinner at Gurney Drive, and lots of telly. Early night as we were tuckered out from the long drive.
#1 first thing I did upon checking in was to dive into the most comfortable bed in the world. hello Traders Hotel pillows it has been too long <3
day two
Tat had cravings for scones and tried to wake me up at EIGHT to for Penang Hill’s David Brown. He failed of course- the only thing that happened was me kicking my feet angrily (at his stomach) and burrowing deeper into the comforter while letting out a muffled “crazyiztooearly”.
So we set off to Penang Hill at… eleven thirty!

Parked at the foot of the hill and took the train ride up. 20 minutes of sheer boredom.

After that we dropped by Gurney Plaza for some walkabouts, took a long drive around the island, had dinner at Nando’s @ Queensbay Mall to see if they grilled chicken differently from KL’s (same durr), and headed back to the hotel cos Tat “had an important game to watch”. Boys and their dumb football. But I wasn’t complaining- I had two new Archie comics to snuggle up with yeay.
#15 showered and happy
day three
Had to wake up early this time as we were joining Tat’s family in Ipoh for lunch. But Tat was pretty smart this time, instead of adopting the military tone of “GERRUP” which would have earned him a sock in the stomach, he gently pulled me up and gave me pats on the back while asking me NICELY to get the f up. Before I realised it I was showered and dressed.
#16 this is Catherine, Tat’s cousin. A bit shy but she’s a darling :-)

The end.
Just accessed my work e-mail and felt relieved that it hasn’t exploded so far (took leave on Friday). Was thinking that this is quite manageable… until I realised that my browser was lagging and I haven’t scrolled all the way to the top yet… dayum.

In #5 it still looks a tad too early for you at 11:30 am… oh well. I have friends who seem to regularly wake up at 3 pm, so 11:30 am isn’t that bad. 8 am is just cruel, though…

More the shadows under the eyes that hint “I need more sleep” I’d say. There’s been some discussion whether a 4 day work week is better (ie, 4 days @ 10 hours, or less pay for 4 days @ 8 hours), I think a rotating 4 day work week isn’t a bad idea. The alternative is working slightly longer for 1 day off every fortnight which is OK as well.

hello. why arent you on msn anymore? did your boss found out i always im you? = = anyway jealous of your holiday. my holiday includes with work, homework and mock exam. how fun does that sound? miss you and max only. oh mama said she wants to go back during dec and she will ask gor gor to fly here to babysit me. D: i will just not open the door for him wtf wtf. maybe that will help his dieting.
